2023/10/20
Natural scenic area
The majestic valley waters flow, as the local saying goes in Taiwanese dialect, 'One step to the navel, two steps to the eyebrows,' illustrating the difficulty of local travel. The Suspension Bridge is 136 meters in length, with a vertical drop of up to 20 meters on both ends. It is the first of its kind in Taiwan and the second in the world, a diagonal cable-stayed ladder-style suspension bridge.

Scenic spot introduction

The Zhushan Suspension Bridge possesses both a grand and imposing presence and the delicate beauty. Spanning across the hundred-meter-deep Taiji Gorge, it allows you to be in a commanding position on the bridge, overlooking a landscape of extraordinary rock cliffs and cascading waterfalls in the gorge. It is often referred to as the 'Taroko of the West' due to its breathtaking scenery.

The waterfalls within the Tai Chi Canyon are divided into four sections: Upper, Lower, Middle, and Nei Hang. Each section offers beautiful and distinct scenery. Currently, only the Upper Hang section is open to the public in the park. Along the way, you'll encounter magnificent sights like the Green Dragon Waterfall, the Face Rock, and the Flying Stone, collectively known as the 'Twenty Wonders of the World.' Inside the Tai Chi Canyon, apart from the peculiar rock cliffs and murmuring streams, the towering bamboo forests on both sides create a picturesque scene. In spring and summer, the area is lush with greenery and gentle breezes. In autumn, it turns into a golden-brown landscape, evoking a poetic atmosphere.

Due to the rugged trail, the round-trip distance is about 4 kilometers and takes approximately 3 hours. At the beginning of the trail, it's mostly downhill, making it an easy walk. On the way back, following the same path turns into a steep uphill staircase trail, rightfully earning its name as the Stairway to Heaven.
